Pavilion 1

2017

Hand-Drafts

Conceptualized in Audubon park in New Orleans, this pavilion offers a space to both engage with nature and shelter within it.  Four standalone walls shift just past each other, as if they are in motion like the people on the pedestrian path. One wall strides the middle of the path in the direction of motion.
Hand-Drafts

While the ground level of the structure sits dense and appropriately grounded, the lightweight deck floats above like a nest. The connecting staircase transitions from a grounded to a floating condition at the point where someone on the stairs would change directions.
